On The Road Again.

"Lots of traveling", you might say? Why yes indeed! Chloe just logged her 7th plane ride and lovin every minute of it... so far. Although, the screaming days are coming, I'm sure!

Chloe and I flew to Phoenix this week to visit my oldest brother Justin and his lovely bride, Heather. My parents met us down there too and we had quite the time together, as always! My cousin Micah met us for some good cookin' a couple days which was fun to see him too. He's grown into quite the fine young bearded gent.

Little Missy did wonderfully on our vacation. She slept like a champ in the corner of the living room, took her naps like a big girl, and played nicely with everyone. The allergies didn't seem to bother her while she was down there and that was good because the booger sucker was left out of the suitcase! The sun and my daughter are best friends already so we did park her outside a few times when the fussies started. Even got to wear a sunhat for the first time which was adorable on her... if you ask me!

Week 15 has been just as great as the others.

*11 pounds on the dot

*She is shrieking now which causes her to break out into a coughing fit. Makes me laugh every time!

*I get lots of comments about how happy she looks. It's true. She smiles and smiles and smiles, even when she has spit up running down her chin or is sooooo tired that her eyes have turned red. It should be a good lesson to this mama to keep a happy outlook on life -- things aren't so serious!

*We've been doing CIO (cry-it-out) for a little over 2 weeks now and she is doing wonderfully. I set my timer but don't have to use it most days. First day, 4 minutes apart and I went in 3 times. Second day, 5 minutes apart and I only went in once. We are up to 8 minutes but I could use a little advise. She isn't able to put her pacifier in on her own yet and when I do have to go in multiple times, its usually all she needs is her pacifier and then she is out in the next couple seconds. Does that makes sense? I'll wait 6 minutes, go in and give her the pacifier, wait another 6 minutes, (if she's still crying) go in and give her the pacifier and she will fall asleep almost instantly. Should I continue to make her cry that second round if she just needs her pacifier or how do I work that out? I'd love suggestions!

*When she is rested and happiest, she loves to stand on our legs. The wobbles start when she is starting to get tired and then she starts fussing when she is done. It's so cute because she doesn't just sit down, she wants us to actually sit her down.

*Tongues are still one of her favorite things. She has her tongue out most of the day, she now plays with my tongue, she smiles when we stick out our tongue to her. It's something that can keep her occupied for quite a while.

*This is the first week that I have seen big crocodile tears in her eyes. They have been little itty bitty things up until this week. Is it a bad thing if I want to capture a picture of it  :)

*She loves the TV. Even if the screen is "sleeping" and the DirecTV sign is just bobbling around, she will just stare at it like crazy.

*Gymnastics is in full swing. New trick: the bridge. She plants her feet and pushes against her head until her back is off the floor. Today, she tried it in her carseat.... hehe!

*Chloe has noooo problem recognizing mama which warms my heart. It makes me feel like a million dollars when she is looking around at strangers with a look of wonder and when her eyes land on my face, she grins from ear to ear.

Hit 13 weeks!

My days are filled with smiles from my sweet baby girl.

So much has happened in the past few weeks that I'm envisioning a long post. It's ok if you skim it, just look at the pictures, or even don't read it once you open it and see the length. I'm having a great time keeping my family and friends updated as well as having all this info recorded for my scrapbook. Let's see what I can remember:

My baby girl has hit 12.5 hours straight of sleep without waking. She had been hovering between 9 and 11 hours but she finally did it!! Most nights she will sleep 12-14 hours total but usually there is a feeding in the middle. We put her to bed around 8 each night. Our night routine includes bath, feeding, then into bed. Usually she wakes around 5:30 then back to bed until 9 or 10. Simply put, it's awesome.

We have discovered an undeniable love for the outdoors in our daughter.... and a bad case of allergies. She has been teething for sure and even a little bit of fresh air will cure a case of the pain-induced weepies. Our sweet Bug is content on her back, side, in the stroller, carseat or sitting on your lap as long as she has something colorful and alive in front of her beautiful blue eyes. Unfortunately, we are learning that she also suffers when she spends too much time outdoors. The humidifier has worked wonders for her plugged nose and we even found a booger dried in her hair this morning so apparently, it's working!! Take a look at our day at Gustafson Farms today...

Spit up/acid reflux problem hasn't gone away yet. I'm occasionally able to recognize her face when she is about to spew but she still catches us by surprise quite often!

Smiles the biggest in the morning and during bath time.

Moves more than anyone else I've ever seen or heard of. She can't even roll over but the crazy girl will turn 180 degrees in the crib and get her legs stuck. Bumper pad is purchased but hasn't been put on yet...

Thumb sucking is happening more & more often.

Luke loves to watch Baby Einstein sign language videos with her. It's so cute.

Last week brought a visit to the good ol' Good Life. Our trip to Nebraska was a big batch of wonderful all smashed into 7 days. We met great grandma Edna, cousins Zade & Brynn, great aunt Sheila, her second cousin Josiah, and spent some time with her new friend Penny.

Cute story about Zade. I was feeding Brynn diced carrots while my mom was giving Chloe her bottle. Pretty soon Zade is saying "Oopie. Oopie. Carrot." We looked over to see him pointing at Chloe's birthmark. He thought she had dropped a carrot on her arm. Precious!

Traveling with a 3 month baby was easier than I expected. I was very, very uneasy going into the trip. My mom was along with me but I told her that she was not allowed to help except holding Chloe on the plane so I could practice alone. She did SOOOO well and slept most of the time on the plane. On the flights back, I even got to take her carseat on which let her sleep soundly and made my back a little less achy the next day!

A few shots of our bundle of joy. Each day, almost hourly, we get to see a new facial expression and just look at each other in awe. What a delight she has been!

Love you Little One.

Easter 2013

Easter Pictures

Easter Day

My friends, I'm going to borrow a Facebook post that I read this morning:

It's Monday.
The tomb is still empty.
The cross is still bare.
We are still free.
Live like it.
