hot and humid but home!

As my armpits continue to perspire, I am reminded of the humid summers in Nebraska. We got back from a garage sale a few hours ago and I'm not sure my undershirt has dried from all the sweat yet. With that being said, I've had the best 9 days that I could have imagined. The days were filled with popsicles, cousins, highschool friends, lunch with my dad, playdates, and scrapbooking with my mom (Effie & Anita too!). Each day was filled up to nearly-overflowing so there wasn't the usual amount of time to just sit and be, but then again, when is that ever possible with a toddler?! Naptimes were spent with our nose in the scrapbooks trying to get the photos up-to-date of my growing girl. I can't say I'm ready to pack it all up quite yet. But, back to reality tomorrow of my busy job and a growing stack of mail to thumb through on our kitchen table. Until then, here's some photos of our time together!

I'm boarding my plane tonight headed for Cali without my baby girl. She's staying for 6 more days to play and be spoiled by Mimi & Papa. Going to miss her like crazy but so glad that she gets to spend this time alone without her mama. Love this big smile!

Two Peas in a Pod {squared}

Friends do a heart good. The conversation, understanding, and laughter exchanged can be wonderful for your heart. Well, I've found some great friends that do that  :)

Chloe, however, has a vastly different view of friendships. She just wants someone that can have a good time, squeal at the same decibel level, and shares puffs. This past week we've been able to have a few playdates that have proven to be the best kind -- fun for mom & baby!!

Liam
This quiet, sweet boy comes alive at the park. He was running around like a little mad man and it was adorable! And then his innocence ended when Chloe taught him to say "poo-poo"...

Kaiya
This precious baby girl joined our friends' family about 4 months ago now and it's finally time for the girls to start enjoying each other. And let me tell you, they are adorable together!!! Chloe now thinks that any baby with darker skin or hair than her are Kaiya. We were in the grocery store yesterday when we saw a little Asian baby boy in his dad's arm. My sweet baby girl is screaming "Kaiya! Kaiya! Kaiya!" across the store and pointing at this oblivious bystander…. priceless!

Chloe & I pray every. single. day. that Kaiya can stay with her mommy {and dad!} and I look sooooo forward to our days of shopping, tea parties, and sleepovers ahead.
