Double Stuf Oreo

What a fun weekend it's been. Closest comparison: the ooey gooey middle of a Double Stuf Oreo.

Friday night we had a little ice cream date with some our friends and talked babies, went to a wedding on Saturday, and then I spent some good time on Sunday with my dear pal Kaelee.

More details? Well, yes. I'd love to share!

Saturday night we celebrated Derek & Katrina Woods' wedding. Although it was a beautiful wedding with great food and very yummy cake, my favorite part had to be watching Luke's family feel Chloe kick for their first times. She was being a little stubborn but daddy got her straightened out. Something about the warmth of his hands wakes her up and she performed quite nicely after that. However, for a while, she was getting the glare from Daddy and Auntie as they "talked it out" with her about her unwillingness to cooperate.... check out this adorable photo. I know the quality is bad but it's too cute:
She'd been kicking a little and Jacy wasn't able to feel it. Jacy watched as Luke would put his hands on my belly and how she'd kick right away. So, she rubbed her hands together, told Big Daddy to get out of the way, and put her warmed hands on my tummy. Sure enough, a few seconds later her eyes lit up and she yelled ( and yes, if you know Jacy you know how loud she can sometimes get) "I FELT HER KICK!!" Melted my heart. Jill got a turn next and after a bit of little flutters, she let out a big one for Grandma to feel  :)  What a fun way to end the evening!!

Kaelee and I decided that we were going to be creative and take up knitting. Yeah.... so, that didn't happen. Instead, we settled on making wreaths. Happy fall!

P.S. Kaelee wil sell her wreath to you for $65 if you are interested  :)

Week 24

This week has flown by and we've arrived at week 24!!

Chloe is moving so much more now and I love that time of connection. This is the first week I've felt movements other than just kicks. I've felt her "rolling" across my belly which is CRAZY because she is 1lb, 6oz according to Doc's measurement.

I'm convinced she's going to be a swimmer like her Auntie. Every time I'm in the shower she paddles around a little faster and kicks a little harder. Just my observation :)

My mama got to go to my check up with me but unfortunately, the Doc was in surgery and ran almost 2 hours late to my appt. So, he was quite rushed but it was fun to have her there to at least experience it with me.

The comical side of pregnancy

I can't believe week 23 is already here. This pregnancy has flown by and I'm shocked that month 6 is upon us so soon!! These last couple weeks have brought a new side to pregnancy that I haven't experience thus far. I've been so blessed by such an easy pregnancy that I have absolutely no reason to complain, just journaling about the progress.

This week has brought me to my knees.... literally. I am uncomfortable from sitting all day at work and end up standing the last hour of work usually because my tailbone is in so much pain. Then, my feet hurt from standing so by the time I get home, I usually kneel or lay down. Ha! Here's a photo of a massage in progress. My belly fits perfectly between his knees but seeing the picture of how we look is quite comical!!

Luke is saying that I'm growing daily now. My belly button is almost flat with my stomach which is funny because I've always had quite a deep cavern in there! I keep looking at it because I just can't believe it's MINE.

My mood has leveled off quite a bit. Although I'm tired more often, there have been far less tears the last couple weeks than early in my pregnancy.... Hubby says, "You haven't been as weepy lately". He sure has a way with words!

Since I have light skin, I wasn't expecting a linea negra to appear. However, I have been blessed with a "linea hairzza" as my husband calls it. No need for a picture to explain that one  :)

Acne has been a big part of this pregnancy. To be down right honest, I popped a zit in my armpit today.  After I got over the initial freak out, my mom just said "those silly hormones". I couldn't have said it better!

This is the first week that a stranger has asked about me being pregnant. I could have hugged her because I was soooo excited! Makes me wonder though, what the heck have I looked like for the last 22 weeks?!?

Hubby and I went on a little lunch date yesterday. We took a couple pictures before we left but this was the only cute one worth posting:

Saturday brings a baby shower at our house for my sweet friend Ariana and Baby Sederquist. Next Tuesday is our 24 week appt and my mom is coming along to meet our little girl for the first time. I'm so excited that she gets to experience it with us. It's been so fun having my parents here to see me with this tummy and feel Chloe kick. I should have counted how many times I've heard "I just can't believe my baby is having a baby".

Facelift

It's been quite a week at the Gustafson home.  The back yard got a much-needed makeover, our master bathroom got a new coat of paint, our closet took some steroids, and the guest room began its amazing transformation into a nursery. Thank you to my parents and hubby for all their hard work while I've been confined to the chair & taking nap time. I've gotta say that I've had quite a bit of pain this week in my lower back and right hip... not sure what the cause is but I don't like being the deadbeat. I've always been a go-getter so this sitting around business has never been enjoyable for me. But, here's our week in photos....

Before.....

After:

Our master bath upgrade.
My mom made the valence out of leftover shower curtain and bought 2 new towels at Target + $16 paint.

 WEEK 22
Ms Chloe is the size of a pomegranate this week!

He thought he was as big as me...

I've been trying to do better about walking and getting exercise which is leaving me much more tired in the evenings. I know it's good for Chloe and I but I sure wish I would have started 5 months ago when I didn't have such a waddle.

**Nursery Photos to come much later when we have more in the room except paint and curtains :)
